WHAT WE DO
Climate change is affecting not only the Mid-South but the entire world. It has far-reaching impacts on food systems, infrastructure systems, natural ecosystems, local to global economies, health, and communities of all sizes and types. Resilience and adaptation planning requires education and training as well as decision support based upon best available data, information and user-friendly tools.
The division of adaptation and resilience works to support, educate, and advance efforts to prepare and respond to disruptions from a range of hazards. Data and tools such as GIS will be central to helping inform decisions for planning and resource management with a key focus on water and transportation systems.
The division will build upon and leverage the skillsets of other CAESER divisions for research, spatial data analytics, and education and outreach activities.
