Paulina Reyes-Garcia, M.S.

Assistant Director of Environmental and Geospatial Analyses

Bio

Paulina Reyes-Garcia holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from ITESO-University in Mexico, and she furthered her academic journey by obtaining a master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on water resources, specializing in the characterization of hydraulic properties in fluvial systems. Currently serving as a Project Coordinator at CAESER, Paulina is actively involved in a portfolio of research projects, where she also takes on the responsibility of supervising the collaborative efforts of Ph.D. researchers’ teams and water technicians. Within the domain of water resources, Paulina has made contributions to surface water system research. Her emphasis on in-situ field techniques has informed aspects such as hydraulic properties, riverbed thickness, surface water-groundwater interactions, differential stream gauging and temperature surveys, among others. Transitioning to groundwater projects, she has been involved in wellhead protection programs, water level surveys, data processing, and the establishment of a monitoring network utilizing telemetry systems and GIS tools. Beyond her water resources expertise, Paulina holds extensive experience in GIS, having navigated multiple software and field applications. Additionally, she has been involved in the management CAESER’s Education and Outreach (E&O) program and continues to contribute to it where her skills in graphic design and scientific knowledge support CAESER’s efforts to bridge the gap between research findings and the community. Paulina’s multifaceted background brings to the team a dynamic professional that provides meaningful contributions across various disciplines within the research landscape.
